December 1st | Elton John- Farwell Yellow Brick Road

After more than half a century on the road and an unparalleled career that has redefined the cultural landscape and seen him claim his place as a true global icon, Elton has announced via an exclusive VR180 Live Stream on YouTube, details of his final tour called ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’.

December 1st | Dog Costume Parade at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens 

During the competition, which begins at 11 a.m., pups clad in fun attire will parade across a stage before a panel of judges to compete for prizes — or just to show off for fun. Categories include Best Puppy, Best Adult, Best Botanical, Best Dog-Owner Dress-alike, Best Dog Pack, and ultimately, Best in Show.

December 1st | Santa bar crawl


Wear a holiday costume to the Highlands Santa Stumble in Virginia-Highland for food and drink specials plus free shots. 

December 1st and 2nd | Cookies with Santa at Zoo Atlanta


Be here when Santa makes his first stop – Zoo Atlanta! Bring the little ones for a personal visit with Santa and a professional photo. Warm up with hot chocolate and cookies, and start the holiday season with festive crafts, costume characters, animal encounters, music and a holiday movie. And of course, you’ll go home with a bag of reindeer chow for when Santa and his helpers make their visit to your home!


December 1st and 2nd | Virginia Highlands Tour of Homes


Welcome in the holidays by attending the 24th Annual Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes! Enjoy a festive 2-day event of beautiful architecture and interior design in one of Atlanta’s most charming neighborhoods. Known for its historic residences, unique shops and fabulous local restaurants, the Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes is the perfect way to spend the day and spread holiday cheer!

Seven beautiful properties will be featured on this year’s tour. Although different in style and design, they are all equally representative of the Neighborhood’s character. This year’s line-up includes a 1923 semi-Tudor style home that has been lovingly transformed to a showcase over the last 32 years, a recently renovated American Foursquare built in 1916, a 1919 “shotgun” California craftsman bungalow with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, a beautifully renovated 1916 bungalow with a multitude of original features, The tour includes three other fabulous historic homes transformed for the modern world and display unique and whimsical works of art.


December 4th | Workout by the Water


Break a sweat at the most unique and inspiring fitness studio Atlanta has to offer – Georgia Aquarium! Workout by the Water offers yoga, pilates and bootcamp classes led by local fitness instructors. Classes are designed to challenge students of all experience levels. Workouts take place in our magnificent Oceans Ballroom, offering incredible views of manta rays and whale sharks guaranteed to motivate you to become a healthier, and happier, YOU!

December 8th | Sleighbells on the Square- Ugly Sweater 5k on Marietta Square

The 18th Annual Sleighblells on the Square 5k is Peachtree Qualifying Race and USATF certified, sponsored by the Cobb County Bar Association. A festive run for everyone as we raise money for the Children’s Emergency Fund. The Children’s Emergency Fund assists Cobb County School District and Marietta City Schools students and their families with emergency financial needs.

December 24th | Yoga in Piedmont Park


Grab your mat and head into Piedmont Park every fourth Monday of the month at 7pm for Free Yoga in the Promenade. This outdoor opportunity is presented by Sprouts and hosted by the Piedmont Park Conservancy.

December 29th | Chick-fil A Peach Bowl      

Peach Bowl, Inc. is the 501(c)3 organization that owns and operates the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament, manages day-to-day operations of The Dodd Trophy, and was the original recruiter and founding sponsor of the new College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. PBI was originally founded by the Georgia Lion’s Club in 1967 and hosted its first NCAA-sanctioned Peach Bowl game in Atlanta in 1968.                                               

December 31st | Black & White New Years at The Aquarium 

You’re invited to ring in the New Year at downtown Atlanta’s most exciting New Year’s Eve party: Georgia Aquarium’s Black and White New Year’s Celebration! You can feel good about attending, because this special event is a fundraiser for our vital research and conservation programs. Join us as we toast to 2019 amongst whale sharks, sea otters, jellies, hundreds of fish and of course, our black and white tuxedoed hosts, the endangered African penguins! Suggested dress is black and white cocktail attire.

December 1st-31st | Festival of the SEAson- Holidays at the Georgia Aquarium holiday


Festival of the SEAson features a light and music show,tree-lighting ceremonies, Santa and SCUBA Claus, and live entertainment atGeorgia Aquarium. See schedule.


December 1st – Jan. 6th | Holiday lights – Botanical Garden


Garden Lights, Holiday Nights features high-tech light displays, illuminated attractions, model trains, and restaurants at the 30-acre Atlanta Botanical Garden.






January 1st | Resolution Run


Toe the first start line of 2019 with Atlanta Track Club at the Resolution Run.  This event features a 5K, One Mile and 50m Dash, and is a great way to get the entire family moving. With a start/finish line conveniently located in Piedmont park, this event is easy to access. The Resolution Run is the best way to get your 2019 off to a healthy start!

 January 10th – 13th | Boat Show

See hundreds of new boats, marine gear, and accessories at the Atlanta Boat Show at Georgia World Congress Center.



January 12th & 16th | Atlanta Gladiators Hockey Game 

The Atlanta Gladiators are the ECHL (AA Professional Hockey) affiliate of the Boston Bruins, providing family friendly and affordable fun to Metro Atlanta. The Gladiators play their home games at the spectacular Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia.

January 13th | MLK Drum Run/Walk at Piedmont


So why is the MLKDay5k so unique? Not only does the race celebrate MLK Day, but we are working with Atlanta area schools, churches, community organizations and businesses to use the race as a fundraiser for their community-oriented initiatives. $5 of each registration from an approved organization will be returned to that organization for use in community efforts of its choice. In other words, if 100 people register under Team X, we will send a check for $500 to Team X’s organization. Get your team/organization signed up today!! 

January 18th – 20th | Callanwolde Indoor Art Festival

Callanwolde Arts Festival features 86 fine artists, demonstrations, live acoustic music, and gourmet food trucks at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.—saturday/

January 19th | Cask Ale Festival

Sample 55 cask-conditioned ales from U.S. and U.K. craft brewers at the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting at 5 Seasons Westside Restaurant and Brewery.

 January 20th | Winter Wine Festival

 Atlanta Winter Wine Fest offers 50 wines to taste with live music, a DJ, and food for sale at City Winery for age 21+. Repeats in April and August.

 January 24th – 26th | Cathedral of St. Philip Antique Show

January 25th – 27th | Horror Convention 

Days of the Dead includes films, panels, a party, celebrity signings, and contests at Sheraton Atlanta.

January 27th | Battle of the Bands at Mercedes Stadium


The Honda Battle of the Bands was created to celebrate, support and recognize the excellence of Black college marching bands and the unique academic experience offered by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Honda annually awards approximately $200,000 in grants to participating marching bands during the program period.


January 27th | Mardi Gras Bar Crawl

 Beads & Booze includes beads, food & drink specials, and a drink at multiple bars within walking distance in Virginia Highlands.





February 1 & 2 | Fly Fishing Show

 The Fly Fishing Show has casting demonstrations, films, classes, celebrity speakers, fly-tying materials, rods, and reels at Infinite Energy Center in Duluth. The Fly Fishing Film Festival requires a separate ticket.

February 8th – 10th | North Atlanta Home Show

 This event connects enthusiasts with experts, products and services. With 42 consumer home shows in the US and 16 in Canada, the Marketplace helps millions of homeowners across North America find everything they need to referesh their home.

 February 14th | Valentine’s Day improv

 The Valentine’s Day Show offers adult humor about the ups and downs of love based on audience suggestions at Dad’s Garage, 559 Ezzard Street.

February 14th | Valentine’s Day garden party

 Let romance bloom with an elegant evening of live entertainment, dancing, appetizers, dessert, and cocktails from a cash bar at Valentines in the Garden, with orchids on display at Atlanta Botanical Garden.

February 23rd | Mardi Gras Ball

Atlanta Mardi Gras Ball is a dress-up dance party “with live entertainment, food, drinks, and vendors” at the Ivy Center. You are allowed to bring your own bottle
